INSANITY - DAY 2

Tonight was Cardio Power & Resistance. I was VERY worried that I would not be able to work out tonight. When I got out of bed this morning, my left calf hurt so bad that my leg almost gave out on me. But, the more I moved around the better it felt. Thank goodness!
So, we started the workout and it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Of course the workout was intense but seemed to focus on different areas so I did not drop dead from the pain of my already sore areas. The hardest part of tonight's workout to me were the power jumps. To do a power jump, you get in a almost squatting position and jump straight up in the air and bring you knees to hip level and slap your knees with your hands. Then back to the squat and do it all over again.
My favorite was probably the belt squats. At least it was the least painful to me!!
Anyway, I survived another night and did the majority of the workout without taking tons of breaks.
Can't wait to see how tomorrow's Cardio Recovery goes.

My Journey Into Fitness

So, last night Brian and I decided that we would start Insanity work out. The first night is the fitness test. For anyone familiar with it, this is what my baseline looked like:
Switch Kicks - 85
Power Squats - 46
Power Knees - 79
Power Jump - 27
Globe Jumps - 4 (sad I know)
Suicide Jumps - 15
Push-up Jumps - 10
Low Plank Oblique - 30

You redo the fit test every 2 weeks. Hope I improve over this one!

Tonight we did the first workout which is Plyometric Cardio Circuit. It was VERY Intense. I had to stop and rest more than I would have liked to. But, hopefully with time it will get better. I think it is so difficult because you slowly build up the speed at which you do the workout series or set (for a lack of better words).
I can definitely see why this program works if you stick with it. I am very excited about doing it even if I have to hurt a lot in the process. Let's see if I still feel that way in a week.

BTW, my least fav part was the Mountain Climbers. I just could not get my lower body up above my hips. I felt like I was marching in place with crazy hand motions. I'm sure that I will get better with time.

I also had Brian take pictures of me in a bathing suit that I have. He will take pics of me along the way to have to compare when it's all said and done! Pics don't lie. But, don't worry,.....I'll spare you having to see the "before" pictures!

Good Night All!
