FALL TIME

I am so excited that Fall is finally here! I think it's my favorite. Although, I probably say the same thing about spring when I am tired of winter. Fall so far has been very busy for us. Brian and I are both in school and of course the kids have school. In addition, Cassidy takes dance and Kaden does karate and soccer!! WHEW!! I am tired just thinking about all of that. We are going to MS next week. It will be a short trip because Brian is in a wedding. But, a little time with my family is better than none! I am super excited about having our cousin Jennifer take some family pictures for us while we are there! If you need pictures done on the Coast, you should look her up. Her company is JG Wines Photography. Her pictures are so innovative and capture those little moments that you just can't get in a traditional sit down photo studio.
Last weekend we went to the OK State Fair. It was a first for me and the kids. But, we had a lot of fun and did a lot of walking!

Cinderella Pageant

Cassidy participated in her very first pageant on Saturday May 2. It was so cute. She was so happy and did excellent for her very first try. She won most photogenic for her age division. There is a lot for a 4 year old to have to remember. She had to walk, turn, talk, stand, etc a certain way on stage. It was all very new for both of us. I am very proud of her. She even wants to participate in the state pageant on June 6. We will see how that goes.

OKC Memorial Marathon

Kaden and I are both going to have a "first" tomorrow.  He and I are going to run in the OKC Memorial Marathon.  And, neither of us has ever run in a marathon........or much else for that matter.  In fact, I am barely a walker, much less a runner.  It will be interesting!  Brian told Kaden that he may have to carry me or drag me across the finish line.  I am kind of excited.  I am sure I will be really tired afterwards, but it seems like they have lots going on and it will be a fun day.  On another note, Kaden rode his motorcycle that we got him for the first time today.  He had mentioned that he was scared about riding it.  I thought that this may make him too nervous to do good.  But, he jumped right on the bike and took off like he had been doing it forever.  That was all it took.........he was hooked!  HE LOVED IT.  I was glad that he did so well.  I think it made him feel really good to get the hang of it all so quickly.
Cassidy and I spent most of our afternoon shopping.  We went with Cheryl to the mall and looked for clothes for the pageant that Cass is going to be in on May 2.  It is the OK Cinderella Pageant.  She is very excited.  We have been practicing the walk, stand, etc.  She gets so happy when we talk about it.
I have attached pics of Kaden on the motorcycle.  I will post pics of Cassidy in the pageant next weekend.
XOXOXOXOX  Tracey

Kaden's new do

Kaden decided that during winter he did not want to cut his hair. So, we have gone all winter without a haircut. He said that when it got hot and he started soccer again, then he would want to cut it. The last few weeks have been driving me crazy because his hair is so long and thick. He finally agreed to cut it the other day. He really wanted a mohawk and we agreed since this is spring break for his school and he has no activities for the next 2 weeks. Yesterday we went to a Thunder game and he wanted to spike it up an color it. All we had was a silver/white kind of color. This is what it looked like by the time we got to the game.

It's going around.....

Everyone around here has been sick. And, I had to go and open my big mouth last week about Cassidy not being sick at all this winter. We have not had to use her nebulizer one time this winter. That is a huge stride forward since every other winter she has pretty much had to be on albuterol, pulmicort, and singulair on a daily basis in order to keep her respiratory system clear. Last Tuesday I took Cassidy to get her 4 year shots. We were in the Dr office for about 1 hour with a ton of sick kiddos. By Friday afternoon Cass had a cough, on Saturday she added a runny nose, and Sunday a fever. Sunday night she slept horribly and so did I. She ran a fever all night and started making a whistling sound in her chest when she would exhale. So, on Monday we went to see her Pediatrician with a fever, stuffy nose, and junky cough. Dr. Milligan said her lungs did not sound good and sent us to get Xrays to see if she had pneumonia.
YAY! About 2 hours after the Xrays, Dr. Milligan called and said that she did not have pneumonia. They said to give her a breathing treatment 3x daily until her cold is gone. Now Brian is not feeling well. I am sure it will make the rounds until we have all had it. I am hoping to avoid getting this cold.......I am way too busy taking care of everyone.

A little update on the craziness of our life

Hey all. It has been a while since my last post. I said I was going to make an effort to post more often. That said, we have been crazy busy. We had Cassidy's birthday, 4 family birthdays, Kaden has karate 2x a week plus competition every Saturday, and we are planning a trip to Disney World. That's a lot...even to type. Cassidy wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese on her birthday, so we did that and then that weekend we had a birthday party with family. She was happy that she got to celebrate her birthday twice.
We are going to Disney World in Orlando when Kaden gets out of school. We are so excited!! I will post more about that later.  I have attached a few photos from Cassidy's birthday.

Snow Day

Today I stayed home from work with the kids. Schools are canceled today due to the ice and snow that has accumulated since yesterday. The kids really wanted to go outside and play in the snow. It was really more ice than snow, but you can't tell kids that! So, I bundled them and myself up and we headed down the street to "the hill" in our neighborhood. We have snow discs but have not had the chance to use them until now. We had a lot of fun and I even went down the hill once. But that won't be on any video anytime soon!

3 Day Weekend

We had a busy weekend. My cousin Shannon and her fiancee' Matt were in town. They are moving to the OKC area soon. We had a lot of fun while they were here. On Saturday night we went to an OKC Blazers game (hockey). Cassidy and I took pictures while we were there.

New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve Brian got tickets to go to the OKC Thunder game.  For those that may not know, the Thunder is our new NBA team.  I was not overly thrilled about being out with the kids in OKC on NYE because of all the traffic.  But, we got ready and went to the game.  Cassidy does not like loud noises.  I thought she may get scared at the game from all the noise.  Kaden has been to the games several times and enjoys every one.  After we had been there about 10 minutes, Cassidy noticed the cheerleaders.  After that she was a fan!  She really got into the game, cheering, dancing, and yelling.  It was so funny.  She wanted to see the cheerleaders up close.  Well, they announced that at half time they were going to be taking pics with the "Thunder Girls."  So, I took Cassidy over there.  As you can see by the pic, she just LOVED it!  All in all it was a good game and we all had fun.  I was glad that we went.  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve and that 2009 is treating all of you well.
